NACCB Registration – Temporarily Paused

**Important Update: Registration for the North American Congress for Conservation Biology is temporarily paused as organizers pivot to including virtual offerings for NACCB.  A new registration form will open in June with reduced virtual registration fees at 1/3 of the original early bird registration rates across all registration categories, and additional need-based financial assistance will be available while funds last.

Important Note: You must register using the same email address for your conbio.org membership log in to receive the reduced rates. You can update your NACCB contact information in the registration form to mirror your SCB member log in email address.

  • Volunteer opportunities: On a first-come, first-served basis, volunteer opportunities will be available via conference registration sign-up. Upon completion of four hours of volunteer time at NACCB, attendees will receive a $75 rebate on conference registration. Capacity may be limited, details to follow.

All registration fees will be collected in USD. International credit card fees may apply.

*Developing country rates are available to NACCB attendees currently residing in developing/LDC countries as defined by the UN.

NAACB and Coronavirus update

After carefully monitoring the situation around COVID-19 over the last 2 months, NACCB 2020 organizers and the Society for Conservation Biology North America have made the decision to include a fully virtual format to the conference, with the potential for a hybrid in-person/virtual event in Denver, depending on recommendations from health experts prior to registration re-opening in June. We are excited for the opportunity to host an engaging and interactive virtual or hybrid NACCB!

Additional details on the format and schedule will be posted in the coming weeks. A new NACCB 2020 registration form will open in June with reduced virtual registration fees at 1/3 of the onsite rates across all registration categories and additional need-based financial assistance will be available while funds last. We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility during this process and we look forward to sharing more news about virtual NACCB 2020 offerings soon!

Registration Reimbursement Policy:

Full registration refunds will be issued if NACCB 2020 is canceled or postponed. If NACCB 2020 moves to a virtual platform, those who have already registered will be offered a full refund or the option to switch to a reduced virtual registration rate with a refund of the difference in registration fees.

  • Before May 15: 90% of the reg fee returned, no charge to drop from full to one-day registration
  • From 15 May to 31 May: 50% of the reg fee returned, $50 charge to drop from full to one-day registration
  • From June 1 onward, no refund for cancellation, no refund for swap from full to one day registration

Events: Field Trip, Workshop, & Short Course Reimbursement Policy:

  • May 31: final day to register for events: field trips, short courses, and workshops. In the case of NACCB event cancellation, attendees will be reimbursed or may switch to another open event with payment adjusted accordingly, pending availability.
  • May 15: In the case of attendee cancellation, attendees will be reimbursed or may switch to another open event with payment adjusted accordingly until May 15. In order to request an event reimbursement, email conferences@scbnorthamerica.org. Your email should include your name, event title that you have removed from your invoiced items, price of the item, and reason for cancellation. The subject line should be “NACCB Event Reimbursement Request”.

*Policy does not apply to Closing & Opening Reception Tickets. Refunds are not available for these events.

Attendee Substitution:

  • Substitutions for attendees are accepted at any time. NACCB will not however swap, reverse or refund the transaction. Email conferences@scbnorthamerica.org to process a substitution. Your email should include your name, abstract ID number and presentation type if you are a presenter, and the contact details of the substitute attendee. Please indicate if the substitute will present your abstract, if applicable. The subject line should be “NACCB Attendee Substitution Request”.
