Call for Nominations: Edward T. LaRoe III Memorial Award

SCB North America is seeking nominations for the Edward T. LaRoe Award!  This award honors leaders in translating principles of conservation biology into real-world conservation. Preference is given to employees of government agencies or individuals who have spent at least part of their career in public service. The intention of the award is to recognize the innovative application of science to resource management and policy.

The 2018 award recipient will be honored at the North American Congress for Conservation Biology, taking place July 21-26, in Toronto, Ontario, CA.  The ceremony will take place on Tuesday July 24th during the SCBNA members meeting. Costs for travel and conference attendance will be covered by the Society for Conservation Biology.

Nominations are due March 15th, 5pm MT. Please fill out the awards nomination form and provide two letters of support, CV of nominee, and send both to awards@conbio.org. Please note SCB Chapter Presidents, SCB Board of Governors, and SCB Groups Board of Directors members are not eligible for this award. Members of the Global Awards Committee and SCB North America Board will vote to select the award recipient in the spring of this year.
