NACCB 2020 Financial Assistance Application

** The Financial Assistance Application process has been paused. NACCB 2020 will now include a fully virtual format and the Financial Awards Subcommittee is adjusting the application process to focus on registration fee assistance. The form will be updated accordingly and all previous applicants will be contacted about any changes.

The below criteria and process are subject to change as the financial awards process is modified to address emerging financial challenges to potential attendees and a virtual conference format.

SCB North America offers small grants for financial assistance applicants on a first come –  first serve, qualifying basis. Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Applicant demonstrates need for financial support to attend NACCB
  • Applicant qualifies as a candidate within one of the following priority categories:
    A. Parent in need of childcare subsidy during the conference
    B. Middle, high school, or community college educator
    C. Holder of one or more identities that need to be augmented in conservation (which, due to systemic barriers, are underrepresented)
    D. Post-doc, or early career (within first two years of job post-education)

Important: Please do not apply for this award unless you are truly experiencing financial hardship. Students in need of funding should instead apply to the Student Travel Awards Application (see Student Travel Awards) and may not be considered for this award. Subsidies will be awarded on a qualifying first come, first serve basis of $100 – $300 awards until funds are exhausted. Funds will be distributed as reimbursement for expenses, and shall only be used for NACCB – related expenses (travel, registration, childcare, lodging, meals) and expense receipt(s) plus NACCB registration receipt must be submitted to conferences@scbnorthamerica.org in order to receive this award. Awardees have until May 15 to accept this award and confirm NACCB attendance.
