NACCR 2026 Conservation and Restoration Education Forum

The North American Congress for Conservation and Restoration, or NACCR (taking place July 12-16, 2026 in Milwaukee, WI) invites educators (K-12, informal, higher ed, and env ed/community science ed) to submit proposals for sharing engaging and effective conservation educational and restoration modules at the Conservation and Restoration Education Forum on July 13 from 4 to 6 PM CDT.  The Forum will connect educators and practitioners seeking to share and gain pedagogical support for fostering outstanding conservation and restoration education practices, and provide space for new connections.  Invited presenters will be offered a 50% registration waiver for the conference.

The Forum will span two hours on July 13. Workshop leaders will give brief, 5-min presentations to showcase their educational modules during the first hour, after which they will guide participants through the process of applying and customizing the module presented to their own educational programs. We anticipate holding 6-9 concurrent sessions that engage participants in the module adoption workshops.

We define a module to be a short set of materials and practices that promote learning of key concepts, methods, or focal case studies. These might be used for a single session or for up to a 1-2 week span of a course (or multiple courses). Educators would be encouraged to share their materials, including either documents or online components, as well as tips for how to effectively teach these materials.

We are looking for conservation and restoration educators in our network and beyond who are interested in preparing and leading a presentation and workshop as outlined above. The deadline to submit a proposal has been extended to February 28, 2026. Members of the SCBNA Education Committee will review submissions and confirm the status of your proposal (accepted or not) by April 1, 2026.
