Get to know your fellow NACCR attendees by taking part in our networking opportunities, including our Closing Reception!
Visit our new Chapters Oasis!
Modeled after Nature for All‘s Youth Oasis, our Chapters Oasis will feature a dedicated conference space for students and SCB/SER Chapters to come together, learn from one another, and hold gatherings throughout NACCR. Come learn about SCB/SER Chapters, how to create/join one, and the resources available for student-led projects in our region. External SCB/SER groups will also hold events at the Oasis on different conference days (open to all attendees), including:
- Coffee Conversations at the Oasis on Monday, July 14 (3-4 PM CST): Keep the momentum going after our student-centric interactive session! Join us at the Oasis for informal, small-group “coffee conversations” with mentors and peers. Grab a refreshment, dive deeper into career questions, and connect in a relaxed, welcoming space designed for continued learning and exchange.
- Smith Fellows Community Office Hours on Monday, July 13 (3-4 PM CST): Curious about the David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellowship? Come talk with us! This informal drop-in session brings together Smith Fellows staff, alumni, and community members for conversation and connections. Whether you’re an early-career researcher wondering if your ideas are a good fit, considering getting involved as a mentor or reviewer, or just want to learn more about what the fellowship experience is actually like, this is a low-barrier opportunity to ask candid questions and connect with people within the Smith Fellows community. Stop by anytime during the hour. We hope to see you there!
Attend a networking social with students and early career professionals at the 3rd Street Market Hall on Wednesday, July 15 (6-9 PM CST)
Unwind and connect beyond the conference at our casual off-site gathering at the 3rd Street Market Hall. Drop in on Wednesday evening (July 15) to meet fellow attendees, expand your network, and enjoy a vibrant food hall atmosphere with plenty of options available for purchase. Located just a few blocks away from our conference venue, 3rd Street Market Hall is downtown Milwaukee’s “latest and greatest destination for bringing people together.” With an assortment of restaurants and activities to partake in, it is a prime location to bring NACCR attendees together to connect and get to know one another.
This event is free but open to Students and Early Career Professionals only (space is limited at max 175 people). It will take place at the Market Hall’s City Fountain area, and attendees will be provided drink tickets upon arrival (meals are not included).
Celebrate a successful NACCR at The New Fashioned on Thursday, July 16 (6-9 PM CST)
Located in Milwaukee’s famous Deer District (less than a 5 min walk from our conference venue), The New Fashioned will serve as the Closing Reception venue for NACCR. Join us after a successful conference for some delicious food and fun activities, and to connect with your fellow attendees one last time.
Our Closing Celebration is now FREE for all NACCR attendees! Attendees will have access to the venue’s 2nd floor (reserved for NACCR) and all activities/games there, along with a buffet-style dinner (drinks are not included).
